In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:
39.0 SENIOR TREASURY OFFICER – GRADE ZRA06 (1 POSITION)- FINANCE DEPARTMENT
- PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Revenue Accountant, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring all monies paid by taxpayers is appropriately receipted and that all receipts are banked intact into Commercial banks and Bank of Zambia.
- MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Checking records of revenue collected i.e cash and cheques against reports generated from the Cash Office system daily and ensure that the two agree;
- Ensuring all revenue receipted is properly accounted for and banked with Commercial banks or Bank of Zambia intact without delay by 11.00hrs the following working day;
- Ensuring that accountable documents are properly safeguarded by carrying out daily reconciliations;
- Ensuring that unused receipts are safely kept in the strong room;
- Ensuring issue of receipts and stamps are properly controlled through the maintenance of registers and correct recording of receipt ranges issued out;
- Ensuring that Cashiers adhere to receipting procedures by checking their work on a daily basis;
- Ensuring that Cashiers serve the taxpayers efficiently and effectively without unnecessary delay;
- Encouraging career development and discipline in all staff;
- Ensuring reports on revenue collections are prepared on a daily basis and circulated to the relevant stakeholders; and
- Conduct e-payment sensitisation to all taxpayers coming to our cash offices.
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
- Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance or equivalent qualifications such a ZICA Licentiate, ZICA Professional ACCA, CIMA;
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualifying work experience in accounting; and
- Must be a member of ZICA.
