Serenity Wellness Center (SWC), a non-profit mental health organization that offers prevention, treatment, and recovery interventions at various levels of society, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the under listed position:

Key Responsibilities

1. Assessment and Diagnosis:

Conduct comprehensive evaluations using interviews, psychological tests, and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and formulate treatment plans.
Assess and analyze clients’ emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns to determine the underlying causes of their issues.

2. Treatment Planning and Therapy:

Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual clients, incorporating various therapeutic approaches based on evidence-based practices.
Provide therapy and counseling sessions to clients, utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), CETA, or other specialized interventions.

3. Clinical Interventions:

Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing specific mental health issues, facilitating behavioral changes, and promoting psychological well-being.
Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress throughout the therapeutic process, adjusting treatment plans as needed.

4. Research and Contribution to the Field:

Engage in research activities, contributing to advancements in psychology by conducting studies, and clinical research projects as may be required.
Stay updated with the latest developments, evidence-based practices, and treatments within the field of clinical psychology.

5. Collaboration and Consultation:

Collaborate with other mental health professionals, healthcare providers, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Provide consultation services to other professionals, organizations, or agencies regarding mental health issues, treatment approaches, and psychological assessments.

6. Ethical Standards and Documentation:

Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the ethical treatment of clients.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

7. Education, Training, and Advocacy:

Provide education and guidance to clients, families, or groups on mental health issues, coping strategies, and behavior management techniques.
Advocate for mental health awareness, promote destigmatization of mental illness, and participate in community outreach programs.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a degree in psychology, counseling, or related field with minimum of 1 year work experience.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Proficiency in assessment tools, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based practices.
Registered by Zambian Counseling Council with valid practicing license.
Speak fluent English and local dialects.
Basic Computer skills required.
