JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Payroll Accountant who will be responsible for payroll administration and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Manage the payroll process, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate payroll records.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with local statutory requirements and regulations
• Manage the payroll process, including processing payroll, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees
• Onboarding of new employees by processing their paperwork, creating an employee code & login to all systems, and capturing all details needed for the pay run
• Calculation of final salary payment for leavers which includes leave encashment, expense claims, and pro-rated base salary
• Keep up to date on internal transfers and promotions within the company
• Ensuring that all necessary documentation is kept in an orderly manner for audit purposes
• Collaborating with HR and finance teams on payroll-related matters
• Staying updated with payroll regulations and changes
• Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain employee payroll records.
• Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues.
• Provide support for audits related to payroll and benefits.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed

    Primary Areas of Accountability:
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Finalist of CA Zambia, ACCA,CIMA or Degree in Accounting
    • Must have a minimum of 5+ years’ work experience as a Payroll Accountant
    • Proven experience in Payroll Administration
    • Excellent knowledge of payroll management software
    • Must be well-versed in statutory requirements pertaining to payroll administration
    • Basic knowledge of HR will be a plus
    • Well versed in the MS Office suite.
    • Must be a member of ZICA
