Position Overview:

Our Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions specific to our donor-funded conservation projects and manufacturing activities. The Management Accountant will work closely with various departments, providing valuable insights to guide decision-making and ensure the efficient allocation of resources.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Collaborate with project managers and department heads to manage budgets and financial forecasts for donor-funded projects.

Analyse financial data and performance against budgets to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Cost Control and Monitoring:

Implement effective cost control measures to ensure adherence to project budgets and donor requirements.

Monitor manufacturing and conservation expenses, providing regular reports to highlight variances and recommend corrective actions.

Donor Compliance:

Work closely with the grants and compliance team to ensure adherence to donor regulations and reporting requirements.

Prepare financial reports for donors, demonstrating the effective use of funds and the impact achieved through conservation and manufacturing initiatives.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare timely and accurate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

Provide management with insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Implement best practices in financial management to ensure transparency and accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with various departments, including conservation, manufacturing, and procurement, to understand their financial needs and provide relevant support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting, preferably within a donor-funded or conservation-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Knowledge of donor compliance regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
