Our client in the hospitality industry is looking for a Lodge manager to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing personnel, including receptionists, kitchen staff, and office employees.
  • Monitoring employee performance and conducting regular evaluations to help improve customer service.
  • Collecting payments and maintaining records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
  • Welcoming and registering guests once they arrive.
  • Resolving issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
  • Organizing activities and assigning responsibilities to employees to ensure productivity.
  • Creating and applying a marketing strategy to promote the hotel’s services and amenities.
  • Coordinating with external parties, including suppliers, travel agencies, and conference planners.
  • Evaluating hotel performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety rules.
  • Partaking in financial activities, including establishing room rates, setting budgets, and assigning funds to departments.

Key Skills

  • Excellent administrative skills and previous experience on “ResRequest” booking system is preferable.
  • Fit and healthy as an active and “hands on”approach is required.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational and communication skills imperative.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee staff in a remote location.
  • Knowledge of wildlife and the environment to enhance guest experiences and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for guest interactions and staff coordination.
  • Proficiency in handling logistics, such as supply management, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise in a remote setting.
  • Customer service expertise to ensure guests have a memorable and enjoyable stay.
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness in dealing with the unique challenges of a bushcamp environment.
  • A passion for nature, conservation, and sustainable tourism practices is often highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Any relevant certifications in hospitality, wildlife management, or related fields would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or lodge management, preferably in remote or wilderness settings.
