Job description
The key purpose of this role is to lead the Maltings E&F team in achieving and exceeding production performance targets. This position requires a proactive leader who can drive operational excellence, optimize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate autonomous maintenance and cleaning
- Manage the equipment and lead the team during shift according to best operating practices whilst ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
- To make minor adjustments to machinery to maintain line efficiencies and quality requirements.
- Monitor production processes
- Interpret and implement production plan for shift
- Support the team to improve process quality and productivity
- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Ensure application of administration systems and procedures
- Prepare and control budgets
- Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free working environment
- Implement safety, health & environmental legislation and procedures
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Availability and appropriate use of protective clothing by production staff ensured

Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary technical qualification, preferably Higher National Diploma or Bachelor degree in science field
- Experience: 2-3 years in Brewing or Malting industry or related field at middle management level
- Training: Min – 3 months on the job training Ideal – 6 months on the job training
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (eg. COSWIN)
- Deep understanding of maintenance practices
- Good understanding of the principles and practices of VPO
