Job Description:
North Star is seeking a meticulous and experienced Cost Accountant to manage our cost accounting processes in Lusaka. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on cost data, managing budgets, and providing insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and report on cost data and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Prepare cost reports and variance analysis.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
- Conduct cost audits and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with cost accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in cost accounting software and MS Office.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CIMA) preferred.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting.
