JOB DETAILS:

The Assistant M&E is responsible for assisting the program team to setup and implement a comprehensive participatory program monitoring and evaluation system that will facilitate effective planning, implementation, performance monitoring, evaluation and accountability of all programs implemented.

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to program activities. Ensure accurate and timely data entry, maintaining data integrity and quality.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the implementation of projects.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain quality control to ensure adherence to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) standards.
  • Promote a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Facilitate the documentation and dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories. Provide technical support to field Extension officers and volunteers.
  • Generate data for internal reports and support the preparation of reports for donors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting.
  • Stay updated on relevant development literature, reports, and studies to inform project work.
  • Document and communicate program success stories and good practices.
  • Coordinate the analysis of program data to measure impact and outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing evidence of success reports for donors.
  • Provide technical support to field staff and partners on M&E approaches and techniques.
  • Conduct training sessions on the use of monitoring tools.
  • Ensure proper collection, storage, and security of M&E data in a central database.
  • Coordinate data quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute to the development of annual operational plans (AOPs) by setting targets and developing monitoring tools.
  • Assist in organizing participatory reflection and learning events, such as quarterly progress review meetings.
  • Assisting the Project Manager and Extension Coordinators
  • Safeguard key project documents, including assessment reports, baseline reports, and evaluation reports.
  • Conduct quarterly monitoring visits to assess program progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Hire, supervise, and manage data collectors and encoders for baseline and end-line surveys.
  • Collaborate with IT for adequate maintenance of software and hardware requirements.
  • Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and experience:

  • Grade 12 school certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Applied Statistic Management, Demography or any other related field .
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E and project management position.
  • Experience in taking a leadership role for project implementation and working in teams in a collaborative and consultative manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills–demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff and communities
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a timely way with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent English is written and oral communication, as well as basic computer skills.
  • Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and impact evaluation.
  • Experience in analyzing data and interpretation and reporting
  • Experience in donor reporting
