Financial Statement Examination:

Identify and analyze financial discrepancies, irregularities, and inconsistencies.

Internal Controls Evaluation:

Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Recommend improvements to internal control processes.

Risk Assessment:

Identify and assess financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.

Evaluate business processes to identify potential areas of risk and suggest improvements.

Audit Planning and Execution:

Develop audit plans outlining the scope, objectives, and methodologies.

Execute audit procedures, including testing controls and substantiating account balances.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare comprehensive audit documentation to support findings and conclusions.

Generate clear and concise audit reports for management and stakeholders.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with clients, management, and team members.

Provide guidance and recommendations to improve financial processes.

Tax Compliance:

Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Tax Planning:

Develop tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize returns.

Advise clients on the tax implications of various financial decisions.

Research:

Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.

Interpret and apply tax laws to specific situations.

Client Interaction:

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information for tax preparation.

Communicate tax-related information clearly to clients and address their concerns.

Recordkeeping:

Maintain organized and accurate tax records.

Ensure documentation supports the positions taken on tax returns.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

Work closely with other departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure tax implications are considered in decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Being a member of ZICA will be an added advantage.
