JOB DETAILS:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems.
• Assemble, install, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines.
• Replace or repair defective pipes, fittings, and fixtures, such as faucets, toilets, and water heaters.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues to determine the best course of action.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing installations.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations when carrying out
plumbing projects.
• Pipe fitting: Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools.
• Weld and solder pipes and fittings to create watertight joints.
• Select appropriate materials and equipment for plumbing projects.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential plumbing problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of plumbing systems.
• Maintain and repair sewage and drainage systems.
• Conduct pressure tests to detect leaks and ensure system integrity.
• Inspect plumbing systems to ensure they meet safety and health standards.
• Communicate effectively to understand their plumbing needs.
• Provide estimates for plumbing services and explain the scope of work.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Adhere to local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and hours worked.
• Create detailed reports for clients and employers.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training.
• Relevant plumbing certifications and licenses (requirements vary by location).
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to work in tight spaces and lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
