JOB DETAILS:

In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:

66.0 CHEF – GRADE ZRA 09 (2 POSITIONS) – HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the job holder will be responsible for effectively supporting the ZRA business by preparing and serving high quality satisfying meals at the ZRA Training Centre.

  1. MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Planning menus;
  • Analysing recipes to assign prices to required supplies such as food items, beverages and other ingredients prior to each training event considering such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of clients;
  • Producing standard recipes to ensure consistent quality;
  • Ensuring that food items, materials, equipment and other supplies are purchased in time for the efficient operation of the kitchen;
  • Offering advice on suitable recipes for targeted participants;
  • Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that set standards are observed;
  • Ensuring correct operation of kitchen equipment;
  • Preparing various types of food for trainees or special ZRA functions such as meetings held at the Training Centre;
  • Garnish and serve food;
  • Maintaining high standard of hygiene in the kitchen and surrounding areas;
  • Observing safety regulations at all times;
  • Investigating and reporting customer complaints on the quality of service provided;
  • Acting on customer complaints by making improvements in areas of concern;
  • Inspecting supplies, equipment and work areas to determine suitability for operations on a daily basis;
  • Reporting all faults on kitchen equipment and appliances;
  • Safe guarding of food items and cutlery;
  • Supervising kitchen staff (if any); and (remove this is Performed by Head Chef); and
  • Recording number of participants and staff taking meals at the Training Centre on a daily basis. (remove this is Performed by Head Chef).
  1. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
  • Certificate/Diploma in Food Production; and
  • Minimum of one year six months relevant work experience.
